Kolkata: Police produced an undertrial prisoner at a Bagdah hearing centre in North 24 Parganas on Sunday. The 36-year-old, booked under the Pocso (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act and lodged in Krishnanagar jail in Nadia for over 2 years, was brought to the office under heavy police security and made to interact with officials as part of the hearing.According to police sources, Shakil Sheikh, an undertrial prisoner, was produced at a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) hearing at Helencha in Bagdah under police escort after a notice reached his residence, prompting the family to inform the police. Locals witnessed the unusual hearing at Helencha Girls’ High School on Sunday morning.
