A large-scale plantation drive will be carried out across the park premises and a dedicated selfie point will welcome the visitors at the main entrance of the pond. Security guards will be deployed to monitor the area and ensure the safety of visitors. The entire work is expected to be completed within 1 year, said the officials, adding that once completed, the site is likely to become a major attraction for residents and tourists in the coming days.Under the plan, the pond will undergo comprehensive restoration. The invasive water hyacinth currently present in the water body will be removed, after which renovation work will begin. Special arrangements will be made to prevent the inflow of polluted water into the pond, ensuring cleaner and healthier surroundings. Benches and seating areas will also be installed to provide resting space.Municipal commissioner Sai Teja said, “I am confident that the revamped Nawal Rai pond site will soon emerge as one of the city’s select picnic destinations, offering a blend of recreation, greenery, and environmental conservation for the people of Prayagraj.”
