Panchkula: The Haryana health department will organise an Ayushman Bharat/Chirayu Surgical Camp Week in Panchkula from Feb 2 to 7, aimed at providing free and cashless surgical treatment to economically weaker patients.Eligible beneficiaries will receive surgical procedures at Civil Hospital, Sector 6, under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and the Chirayu scheme.Civil surgeon Dr Mukta Kumar said the campaign seeks to make quality healthcare accessible and affordable for all eligible citizens. A similar camp held earlier in the district received a strong response and benefitted a large number of patients, she added. TNNThe primary objectives of the Surgical Camp Week include clearing the backlog of pending surgical cases, improving the efficiency of surgical services in govt hospitals, and strengthening public confidence in the Ayushman Bharat and Chirayu schemes.Dr Kumar said directions have been issued to all govt health institutions, including civil hospitals in Panchkula, Kalka, Raipur Rani, Morni and Barwala, as well as all community health centres and primary health centres. These institutions have been asked to identify eligible Ayushman/Chirayu cardholders requiring surgeries and prepare a priority list for the camp.Calling the initiative “highly beneficial” for needy patients, she urged doctors, Ayushman Mitras, hospital staff and field workers to work in close coordination for the success of the campaign. She also appealed to all eligible citizens to get their Ayushman/Chirayu eligibility verified at the Civil Hospital or designated help desks and avail themselves of the benefits during the special week.
