Varanasi: FIR was lodged against two persons for shooting at and injuring a pet in in Basti Bhujbal village under Ahraula police station area of Azamgarh district. According to the complaint lodged by Hriday Narain Shukla, he and his son Rishu Shukla (17) were walking their dog outside their house on Monday night, when two persons identified as Deepak Chaubey and Vivek Chaubey walked by with their dog. When Shukla’s dog barked at the other dog, its owners hurled abuses and after a heated exchange of words, opened indiscriminate fire. Shukla’s dog was injured by the bullets on the ear and chest and was taken to the vetinirary hospital. After firing shots, Chaubeys fled the scene.Ahraula police station in charge Amit Kumar Mishra said based on Hriday Narayan Shukla’s complaint, named FIR was lodged against Deepak Chaubey and Vivek Chaubey under Section 109(1) (attempt to murder), 351(3) (criminal intimidation) and 325 (mischief by killing or maiming an animal) BNS. He added that raids were carried out at possible hideouts of the Chaubeys to arrest them.
