Perth traffic: Monday morning madness as crashes, bushfires cause road closures and delays

Monday morning commuters are in for a rough start to the week, with a cluster of crashes and emergencies on major Perth roads causing heavy delays.

A crash on Kwinana Freeway southbound before Thomas Road has resulted in traffic being reduced to a single lane.

Motorists are outside of their vehicles.

Traffic remains heavy on approach, with drivers urged to remain vigilant and allow for a safe merge.

The left lanes of Tonkin Highway northbound near Rowley Road have been closed following a crash in Oakford.

Emergency and towing services remain on site, with traffic heavy in the area.

A bushfire in Mundijong has also resulted in both directions of South Western Highway being closed between Norman Road and Jarrahdale Road.

Congestion is heavy as emergency services tend to the blaze.

Motorists are urged to seek alternative routes and to exercise extreme caution.

In Serpentine, a tree across the road has impacted southbound lanes of traffic on Southwestern Highway.

Police remain near Scrivener Road tending to the scene, with motorists urged to remain vigilant.
