Jaipur: A cardiac patient and his brother died after an ambulance overturned near Niwaru Road in Kardhani police station area Tuesday evening, police said.ASI Raghu Nandan of the accident investigation unit (west) said the deceased were identified as Sirajuddin (67) and his brother Firoz Ali (50), residents of Udaipurwati in Jhunjhunu.
Police said Sirajuddin, a cardiac patient, was being shifted from a private hospital in Chomu to a hospital in Mansarovar for emergency treatment when the ambulance skidded and overturned, possibly due to speeding. The two brothers suffered critical injuries and were declared dead during treatment. The ambulance driver, a compounder, and a relative were among 4 others injured in the accident.“Relatives in another vehicle were delayed due to traffic. When they reached the Niwaru Road stretch, they found the ambulance overturned,” a family member said. tnn
