Lucknow: To enhance transparency and effectiveness in handling sensitive cases and preventive legal proceedings, police have implemented a technology-driven digital platform titled ‘Pabandi’ portal in Chandauli district. On the directives of DGP Rajeev Krishna, the portal is being implemented under the supervision of superintendent of police, Chandauli, Aditya Langeh.
“The portal is designed for continuous monitoring of preventive action cases registered under Sections 126 and 135 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), formerly Sections 107 and 116 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC). Its primary objective is to strengthen district-level law and order and ensure effective oversight of preventive policing measures,” said Langeh. The platform is being used to monitor preventive actions in sensitive matters such as property disputes, breach of public peace, disputes involving women, communal tensions, and election-related rivalries. This initiative significantly enhanced transparency, efficiency, and accountability in preventive policing across the district.Under the system, as soon as a general diary (GD) entry related to any dispute is recorded at a police station, the case is immediately uploaded to the portal. Based on responses to a structured set of questions, the portal automatically categorises each case into high, medium, or low risk. The backend of the portal is powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI), which streamlines and accelerates preventive policing processes. AI-assisted analysis helps identify risk levels, track repeat offenders, ensure timely follow-ups, and automatically generate alerts in cases where preventive action files are pending. So far, over 5,000 preventive action cases across the district have been actively reviewed and monitored through the portal.
