Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited is running a one-time settlement scheme (OTS) to provide relief to defaulters. This scheme will run in three phases from 15 December to 31 January. Instructions have been given to speed up publicity so that 100% of the defaulters can avail the benefits of the scheme.
The officers posted at the subdivision have been asked to keep the office as well as the cash counter open on Sundays till the scheme is operational. It has been warned that action will be taken if indifference is shown.
OTS scheme for electricity defaulters
To provide relief to defaulters, the electricity department has started OTS. It has been divided into three phases. It will be reviewed after the completion of the first phase. In this, the sub-centre where the registration of defaulters is less, will be instructed to improve the situation further. The same will happen in the second phase and then after the completion of the last phase, wherever the registration is less, the sub-division officer and junior engineer posted there will be removed without any explanation.Regarding this, Chief Engineer PK Singh is taking a report from all the Executive Engineers on the daily registrations being done by the defaulters. Executive Engineer of Bamrauli Division Santosh Tiwari says that the government has given clear instructions that 100% registration will be done so that the defaulters get the benefit of the scheme. No stone should be left unturned in publicity.
How much discount are you getting
The first phase is from 15 to 31 December. In this, domestic consumers of one kilowatt will be given 100 percent waiver of surcharge, while domestic consumers of two kilowatt or more will get 60 percent discount. If the defaulters agree to pay in four installments, then 50 percent surcharge will be waived.The second phase will run from January 1 to January 15. In this, domestic consumers of one kilowatt will get 80 percent discount on surcharge, while domestic consumers of two kilowatt or more will get 50 percent discount. 40 percent surcharge will be waived for defaulters who pay in four installments.
The third and final phase will run from 16 to 31 January. In this, domestic consumers of one kilowatt will be given a 70 percent discount on surcharge. While domestic consumers of two kilowatts or more will get a 40 percent discount. Only 30 percent surcharge will be waived for those who pay in four installments.
