Pune: One person died and three suffered injuries after an SUV they were travelling in crashed into a tree along the Pune-Solapur highway at Koregaon Mul village near Uruli Kanchan, about 30 km from Pune, on Friday morning.The Pune Rural police identified the deceased as Gorakh Mane. The injured, Samdhan Babar, Vijay Mane and Alkesh Khan, are being treated in a private hospital.An officer from the Pune Rural police said on Thursday, the 4 men went to Mumbai to attend a meeting about bananas export. They left Mumbai late on Thursday night and reached Hadapsar in Pune at about 6.30am. They were driving back to home in Karmala in Solapur. “After driving a few kilometres on the Pune-Solapur highway, when they reached Koregaon Mul, the driver lost control and their SUV crashed into the tree along the highway,” the officer said.He said the four of them sustained injuries and were taken to a hospital. Gorakh Mane succumbed to the injuries during treatment, he said. A case of causing death by negligence was registered with the Uruli Kanchan police.
