Bhubaneswar: The state level single window clearance authority (SLSWCA) meeting, chaired by chief secretary Anu Garg, on Tuesday approved 23 industrial projects worth Rs 4,111.80 crore, with the potential to generate 9,924 jobs.The approvals mark a significant push towards strengthening Odisha’s industrial ecosystem and accelerating job-led economic growth. The projects cover a wide spectrum of sectors — mechanical and electrical capital goods, apparel and textiles, aerospace and defence manufacturing, shipbuilding and repair, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, refractories, aluminium downstream, mineral beneficiation, metal downstream, plastics, glass manufacturing, logistics and warehousing, infrastructure and tourism — reflecting the state’s diversified and resilient industrial strategy, a govt statement said.
The investments will be spread across 11 districts — Balasore, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Deogarh, Ganjam, Jajpur, Khurda, Koraput, Puri, Sambalpur and Sundargarh — ensuring regionally balanced development.Among the major approvals, Nipha Ltd will set up a railway component manufacturing unit in Khurda at an investment of Rs 384 crore, creating 310 jobs. In advanced manufacturing, Inventgrid India Pvt Ltd will establish an advanced multi-drone manufacturing centre in Ganjam for Rs 300 crore, generating 1,000 jobs. In the maritime sector, Northern Express Infra Developers Pvt Ltd will develop a shipbuilding and ship repair facility in Bhadrak at an investment of Rs 339.40 crore, with the potential of 507 jobs.Tourism infrastructure will be boosted with two 5-star hotels in Puri (Rs 200 crore) and Khurda (Rs 210 crore), and two 4-star hotel projects in Puri (Rs 70 crore) and Sambalpur (Rs 64 crore).In apparel and textiles, JG Hosiery Pvt Ltd will establish a large garment unit in Khurda for Rs 100 crore, creating 2,350 jobs. In pharmaceuticals and chemicals, Alventa Pharma Ltd and Blue Mount Energy Pvt Ltd will invest Rs 100 crore each in Khurda and Cuttack, generating 250 and 100 jobs, respectively.Several refractory, aluminium downstream, mineral beneficiation and metal processing projects were also approved in Sundargarh, Jajpur, Koraput and Deogarh districts.
