Obscene dance before idol at Ludhiana religious event; 4 accused.

Ludhiana: Police have registered a case against four unidentified men accused of playing obscene songs and dancing provocatively in front of a sacred idol during a Saraswati Puja ceremony, an incident captured on video and shared widely on social media. The disturbance occurred on Jan 30 in the Preet Vihar area near Bajra during the religious event on Kailash Nagar Road. Witnesses said a group of youths seized a DJ system without permission from organisers, blasted indecent songs and performed objectionable dances before the idol of the Goddess. Local residents filmed the episode on mobile phones and posted it online, prompting outrage over hurt religious sentiments. Shiv Sena Lions leader Manish Verma filed a complaint with police, who investigated the claims. Organizers tried repeatedly to stop the youths, but they refused, disrupting the event, assistant sub-inspector Talwinder Singh, the investigating officer, has said. Nearly a week later, police lodged a first-information report against the four unidentified suspects under Sections 299 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Singh said. The probe continues.
