Patna: Parents of the medical aspirant from Jehanabad were among those who joined the ‘Beti Bachao-Nyaya Yatra’ organised by the All India Progressive Women’s Association (AIPWA) and other wings of the CPI(ML) on Wednesday, seeking justice in the alleged sexual assault and death of the student.The yatra, led by AIPWA general secretary Meena Tiwari, began from a village in Jehanabad. Her parents were present at the starting point and saw off the participants.
Former CPI(ML) MLAs Mahanand Singh and Rambali Singh from the district were also among the participants.After starting from Jehanabad, the yatra made a night halt at Hilsa in Nalanda district. It is scheduled to pass through Nalanda, Nawada, Gaya, Aurangabad and Arwal districts before reaching Patna on Feb 10.On reaching the state capital, the participants plan to march to the Bihar assembly, demanding concrete action from the govt in the case.
