Bhopal: A nurse was shot dead at the gate of the Shahgarh Community Health Centre (CHC) in Sagar on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Deepshikha Chadhar, a staff nurse posted at the health centre. She was a resident of Patan in Jabalpur.CMHO Dr Mamta Tiwari said that she was living with two other nurses nearby and the incident took place while she was crossing the road.Police said an unidentified assailant opened fire at Deepshikha at the hospital entrance, killing her on the spot. The attacker fled after the shooting.On receiving information, police reached the scene, secured the area and sent the body for post-mortem. CCTV footage from the hospital and nearby locations is being scanned and eyewitnesses are being questioned. The motive behind the murder is not yet known and an investigation is underway.
