Ahmedabad: The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) on Friday locked the offices of Gujarat University officials, protesting alleged habitual late arrival and absenteeism among staff and officers. They claimed repeated complaints over several months were ignored by the administration. Recently, NSUI members recorded a video around 11am showing empty offices in the university tower, but no action followed despite the footage going public. Angered by the inaction, protesters staged a “lockdown” agitation, accusing employees of a work-avoidance culture that was affecting students and administrative functioning. NSUI also announced plans to approach the governor of Gujarat and the state education minister, seeking strict action to ensure discipline and accountability within the university administration.
