Nine fire tenders douse blaze at plastic factory | Kanpur News

Kanpur: A massive fire broke out early Wednesday morning at a plastic factory operated by Vinayak Traders in Dada Nagar under the Govindnagar police station area in Kanpur. Mini control room, Fazalganj was alerted after which fire brigade reached the spot.The fire spread rapidly due to plastic granules and plastic-made goods and toys stored in the factory. Considering the seriousness of the situation and the industrial area surroundings, the chief fire officer reached the spot and additional fire tenders were called. Through the mini control room, fire tenders were sent from fire stations of Panki, Mirpur Cantt, Latouche Road, Colonelganj, Kidwai Nagar and Jajmau.The blaze was controlled after water was sprayed on the factory from all sides. Amid extreme temperatures and dense smoke, a total of 9 units of Fire and Emergency Services, Kanpur Nagar, brought the fire under control after hard efforts and thus saving the nearby factories.The extent of damage from the fire is being assessed. Chief fire officer Deepak Sharma said that the blaze was extinguished. An investigation is underway to determine how the fire originated.
