Nigerian, Goan held with drugs worth Rs 15 lakh

Panaji: Goa police on Monday arrested two people, including a Nigerian, for alleged possession of a narcotic substance worth Rs 15 lakh and for hiding the identity of a foreign national.SP crime branch Rahul Gupta said that the crime branch conducted a raid at Pilerne Marra, and caught Omorigo, 42, the Nigerian, with white crystal powder suspected to be cocaine, weighing 31.7g and worth over Rs 15 lakh.

Gupta said that a scooter was seized during the raid. Sudhir Paleinkar, 42, a Sangolda resident, was also arrested for providing his private scooter to Omorigo and failing to submit his Form C to the police, thereby hiding the identity of the accused.“As per the investigation, the parcel that the Nigerian got through a courier service was received by Paleinkar,” Gupta said.
