School safety week launchedMinister of state for disaster management, Sanjaysinh Mahida, inaugurated the School Safety Week 2026 on Tuesday. The minister and ACS revenue Jayanti Ravi provided guidance to students on disaster management. Over the next week, various programmes will be held in schools to educate students on the potential risks of disasters like flood, fire, accident and earthquake, by organising essay, drawing, and speech competitions. The students will also be provided information on search and rescue work. Mock drills will also be held in schools, an official statement said.
Govt to buy wheat at MSP of Rs 2,585/quintalThe state govt said on Tuesday that wheat will be purchased at a minimum support price (MSP) of Rs 2,585 per quintal, and farmers who wish to sell their produce at the support price will have to register online between Feb 1 and March 1. Purchase of wheat at support price will take place at designated centres between March 4 and 15, a govt statement said.
