Raipur. The women of Shuklabhatha-Vicharpur village of Mungeli district have set a new example in the direction of self-reliance. The positive result of the efforts being made by the district administration for the economic empowerment of women as per the vision of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai is clearly visible in the efforts of Sakhi Saheli self-help group.The women of the group started fish farming by taking a loan of six lakh rupees from Setganga Gramin Bank under the National Rural Livelihood Mission. Their economic condition has improved due to this business. The group’s president Pushpa Bai Gabel said that earlier women were dependent only on agriculture. Due to low income, the needs of the house could not be met.
After joining the group and getting a revolving fund of Rs 15,000 under the government’s revolving fund, she took a loan from the bank and started fish farming business. Gradually expanding the business, she has now become financially strong.
