The National Council of Educational Research and Training has started online applications for NCERT Recruitment 2026 to fill 117 academic vacancies via direct recruitment. This recruitment process includes teaching and librarian vacancies in various campuses of NCERT and will be strictly done through the official website, ncert.nic.in.According to the official recruitment notification, the online application process for this recruitment has already started and will end on February 20, 2026. Candidates can submit their applications only online and before proceeding with their applications, they should thoroughly check their eligibility, reservation policy, and other instructions. Posts on offer and vacancy detailsThe recruitment process is intended to fill the posts of professors, associate professors, assistant professors, and librarian staff. A total of 114 vacancies are advertised for the posts of professors, associate professors, and assistant professors, and three vacancies are reserved for the posts of deputy librarian and assistant librarian. The recruitment will be made as per Advertisement No. 177/2026.Work locations and eligibility frameworkThe selected candidates will be deployed at the NCERT campuses situated in New Delhi, Ajmer, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Mysuru, and Shillong. The essential qualifications for the posts are mentioned in the official notification. The retiring age, age relaxation, and eligibility criteria will be the same as per the latest amendments of UGC, Govt. of India, and NCERT, with the allowed relaxation to the categories as per the respective rules. Application fee and selection procedureThe application fee for the candidates of UR, OBC, and EWS categories is Rs 1000.However, candidates from SC, ST, PWD, and women categories are exempted from payment. The application fee has to be paid online only. The selection procedure will be through shortlisting and performance in interview, and the final merit list will be prepared only on the basis of interview marks as per UGC and NCERT guidelines.How to apply onlineApplicants have to apply online through the website ncert.nic.in by clicking on Announcement, Vacancy, and Academic sections. Applicants are required to register, fill the application form, upload the required documents, photograph, and signature, pay the application fee (if applicable), and finally submit the application form. A hard copy of the submitted application form has to be saved for future use. The recruitment will be done as per UGC and NCERT guidelines, and applications received through any other method will not be considered for this recruitment process cycle.
