Bengaluru: Cadets of the Karnataka and Goa directorate of the NCC were welcomed with a victory rally in Bengaluru upon their return from New Delhi after emerging as the Prime Minister’s banner and trophy winners for the second consecutive year at the annual Republic Day Camp 2026. The directorate emerged as the overall champions among 17 NCC directorates, excelling in drill, firing, cultural events, and several national-level competitions.A cavalcade of army trucks with the cadets drove from KSR Bengaluru railway station to Brindavan College in Yelahanka. The rally, escorted by traffic police personnel, passed in front of Vidhana Soudha and Lok Bhavan, and proceeded via Mehkri Circle and Hebbal.
The directorate was represented by a total of 124 cadets, including 76 senior division (boys) and 48 senior wing (girls) from six groups. The Republic Day Camp was held from Dec 28 to Jan 26, during which the cadets took part in various competitions. The Karnataka and Goa directorate stood first in flag area, second in line area competitions, and third in the PM rally.
