Amritsar: Former MLA Navjot Kaur Sidhu is back in the spotlight, not just for her political remarks, but for a post on X that reignited debate on her views on alternative support remedies for cancer treatment. In her message, she stressed on naturpathic diet and supplements like pure cow urine, which she claims to help recover faster with minimum chances or recurrence of cancer.In a post, she said, “Being on naturopathic diet and supplemnets like pure cow urine, soursop, blue pea tea, sea buckthorn, just help you to recover faster and there are less chances of recurrence.” The post quickly drew attention, especially in the context of her cancer recovery.Clarifying her stand, Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu strongly emphasised that allopathic medicine formed the backbone of her treatment. She detailed undergoing surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy, and she was currently on keytruda immunotherapy.According to her, naturopathic practices and supplements such as cow urine, soursop, blue pea tea and sea buckthorn were only supportive measures to aid recovery and reduce recurrence risk. However, she cautioned that rejecting allopathic treatment could be life-threatening, calling “half speeches” on cancer care extremely dangerous.In a conversation with Anirudh Acharya, she said a cow urine was always at her home. Acharya Anirudh also told the audience to see her diet plan on the YouTube channel.Notably, earlier, she courted controversy after Tata Memorial Hospital objected to her claims that ancient herbs aided in the recovery of her cancer, following which Kaur, along with her husband Navjot Singh Sidhu, released a detailed plan outlining lifestyle changes and dietary adjustments.At the same time, the Sidhu couple emphasised that they held doctors in the highest regard, referring to them as “gods”, and clarified that all of Navjot Kaur’s treatment was carried out under the guidance of medical professionals.Netizens reacted sharply to her X post, with one of them saying, “Madam, you should be ashamed to call yourself a doctor. A punitive class action suite should be taken on you for misleading the masses. This should also include stripping the title of Dr from people who mislead the masses.” Another netizen reacted by uploading, “She was cured because of medicines, not by cow dung or cow urine. You murdered the Constitution. You murdered the scientific thinking of the Constitution.”
