Jalandhar: Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann on Sunday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to name Adampur Airport after Guru Ravidas during the latter’s visit to Jalandhar on Feb 1.Mann said he would be “deeply grateful on behalf of all Punjab residents” and shared the request on his social media accounts. The Prime Minister is also scheduled to visit Dera Sachkhand Ballan on Feb 1 on the occasion of Guru Ravidas Jayanti.
Adampur MLA Sukhwinder Singh Kotli said during Captain Amarinder Singh’s tenure, the Punjab assembly had unanimously passed a resolution to name the airport after Guru Ravidas, and the Centre should now accept this collective demand. “Now, when the PM is coming here on the occasion of Guru Ravidas Jayanti, he should announce the naming of the airport after Guru Ravidas,” Kotli said.MSID:: 127709888 413 |
