Pune: A murder accused on Wednesday evening escaped from the clutches of police when he was taken to his house in Hingne Khurd for investigations into the case.A case was registered against the fugitive murder accused, Nitin Waghmare (26), with the Sinhagad Road police. Police constable Shrikant Kirawale, attached to the Mangaon police, lodged a complaint. “A team has been fanned out to trace Waghmare,” a police officer said.Waghmare was arrested in connection with a murder in the Tamhini Ghat area, after the body of a man was found on Jan 11. The Mangaon police had identified the victim as Aditya Bhagat (22) of Bhosari.The police said Waghmare murdered Bhagat inside the latter’s car and dumped the body in the Tamhini Ghat section. The murder was the fallout of arguments over money, the police said.A team from the Baner police arrested Waghmare when he was trying to sell Bhagat’s car. Another accused in the case, Tushar Patole (24) of Karvenagar, was also taken into custody. Both of them were handed over to the Mangaon police for investigation. An accomplice of Waghmare and Patole was on the run, the police said. A team from the Mangaon police had brought Waghmare to Pune on Wednesday to carry out searches in his house in Hingne Khurd. When the mebers of the police team were doing a panchnama in his house, Waghmare pushed police constable Kirawale and fled, the police said.
