Mumbai Police trying to verify threat voice message to Ranveer Singh

Mumbai: Police are trying to establish who had sent the threat voice message to actor Ranveer Singh, said senior officers on Thursday. Police said they are checking whether the Bishnoi gang or someone else using its name had sent the message to the actor using a virtual private network (VPN). “Nobody has come forward to file a complaint. So far, there is no FIR. We are verifying everything,” said a senior police officer.Singh was learnt to have received the threat accompanied by a demand for several crores. Sources said the threat was sent as a WhatsApp voice note from an unidentified number to Singh’s secretary. The sender claimed to be speaking on behalf of the Bishnoi gang.Personnel from the city’s cyber crime police station were busy at a crime branch office to find out the details about the threat voice message and an alleged threat email to another actor.
