MUMBAI: A 40-year-old man was arrested by Samta Nagar Police for sexually assaulting a female dog in Kandivali East. The case was reported by a local social worker.According to the FIR, the social worker was returning home from her uncle’s place on 1 February when she saw a crowd near a drain by Lokhandwala Complex.She found the accused lying in the drain with a female dog that was crying in pain. The dog had injuries to its private parts. The social worker took the animal to Parel Animal Hospital, where it was treated. Doctors confirmed the dog had been sexually assaulted.The social worker then reported the incident to Samta Nagar Police.An FIR was filed under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against the accused, Sanjay Gaud.
