Mumbai: Devotees Cheated with Fake Juhu Ashram Booking Site; FIR Filed | Mumbai News

Mumbai: An assistant manager with a renowned temple in Juhu that also runs an ashram guest house lodged a police complaint after guests were being conned through a fake reservations website.

Juhu Police have registered an FIR and are looking for the accused.The complainant said his co-workers found out about the fake website and alerted him on Jan 10. The URL was very similar to the ashram guest house’s authentic website through which reservations for accommodation are booked. Two WhatsApp numbers were provided on the fake website for booking. On further inquiry, it was learnt that one of the temple devotees had fallen for the con. He had contacted the WhatsApp numbers mentioned on the fake website and was asked to transfer Rs 5000 from his digital wallet for booking. On learning that devotees as well as the ashram was getting cheated in this manner, the assistant manager approached the police.
