Multi-layered security blanket in Panchkula

Times News NetworkPanchkula: In view of the 77th Republic Day celebrations, security was significantly tightened across Panchkula, with the district police placed on high alert. Multi-layered security arrangements include deployment of dog squads, SWAT teams, and intensified surveillance at key locations.As part of the security review, deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Panchkula, Srishti Gupta, visited the Parade Ground in Sector 5 and conducted a detailed inspection of the security arrangements. The venue will host the main Republic Day function on Jan 26. The entire area was placed under comprehensive security cover.District police are conducting continuous search operations with the help of dog squads at sensitive and high-footfall areas such as bus stands, busy markets, and the railway station.DCP Srishti Gupta issued strict instructions to all officers, stating that no lapse in security would be tolerated.
