MSU VC gets ISAS Sastra Tejas Award

Vadodara: The Indian Society of Analytical Scientists (ISAS) has conferred the prestigious ISAS Sastra Tejas (Academic) Award 2025 on Prof Bhalchandra M Bhanage, vice-chancellor of the Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU), in recognition of his distinguished contributions to science, technology and academic leadership.The award was presented during the inaugural session of the International Analytical Science Congress (IASC-2026), held from Jan 22 to 24 in Belagavi, Karnataka.Prof Bhanage was honoured for his pioneering research in catalysis, organic and green chemistry, ionic liquids, materials chemistry, sustainability and environmental sciences.In its citation, ISAS described Prof Bhanage as a leading national and international authority in material and green chemistry, and a key Indian knowledge asset. It noted that his research has played a significant role in strengthening India’s scientific ecosystem as the country advances towards long-term development goals aligned with the centenary of Independence in 2047.Recently, Prof Bhanage was also appointed to the roll of scientific advisers under the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.
