Pune: An elderly man (62) died after a motorcycle hit him in Chakan on Sunday night.The Chakan police on Monday registered a case of causing death by negligence against the motorcyclist. The accused also suffered injuries in the accident, police said.
The police identified the deceased as Vitthal Kumbhar (62) of Khed taluka.An officer from the Chakan police said the accident happened on Sunday around 8pm, when the victim was crossing the road at Chakan. Kumbhar suffered head injuries in the accident. “Kumbhar was taken to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to the injuries during treatment,” the officer said.
