Bhilwara: The bodies of a 24-year-old woman and her young son were found in a pond in Kapasan police station area of Chittorgarh district Saturday. Chittorgarh SP Manish Tripathi said police first received information about a child’s body floating in the pond on Radiyarji Road. Kapasan police station officer Sunil Sharma reached the spot with his team, and the child’s body was retrieved Saturday morning. The child was identified as Naveen Prajapat. Police informed the family, who told officials that Naveen’s mother had gone to a nearby temple with him on Friday. Police found a pair of slippers belonging to Naveen’s mother, Mamta Prajapat (24), near the pond. A civil defence team was called in, and Mamta’s body was recovered from the pond around 3pm. Police said Mamta had arrived at her in-laws’ house in Kapasan from her parental home in Rajsamand district on Thursday.
