The conference, which will conclude on Feb 1, brought together scientists, researchers and academics from India and abroad. The conference was inaugurated by Prof M M Gore, officiating director, MNNIT Allahabad, on Friday. He emphasised the critical role of mathematics and computational methods in addressing real-life challenges in energy, the environment, industry and engineering. He said such academic platforms help bridge the gap between theoretical research and practical applications.Chief guest, Prof Somnath Bhattacharyya of IIT Kharagpur, highlighted that complex engineering problems require strong mathematical modelling and advanced computational techniques, noting their growing impact on technological and industrial development. The event was chaired by Prof Pitam Singh, head of the department of Mathematics, who outlined the department’s achievements and its contributions to applied and pure mathematics research. The conference was convened by Prof Pramod Kumar Yadav, Naren Bag and Abhishek Kundu.
