Lucknow: Sarojininagar MLA, Rajeshwar Singh wrote a letter to chief minister Yogi Adityanath, proposing a monitoring framework to transform Lucknow into a ‘model capital city’.In his letter, Singh emphasised that Lucknow is the administrative capital, cultural identity and global face of UP.

Governance outcomes in the capital, he said, directly influence investor confidence, citizen quality of life and the state’s overall development narrative.

He called for chief secretary-level monitoring across key sectors, including investment and employment generation, infrastructure and urban mobility, land use and housing, education and skill development, health systems and environmental management, governance and digital services, culture and tourism, and safety and law and order.Singh said that without sustained high-level coordination, Lucknow risks worsening congestion, environmental stress, service gaps, and delayed job creation. “Lucknow’s success will define Uttar Pradesh’s development narrative on the global stage,” he wrote.
