Chennai: A 60-year-old hotel owner from Vandalur, who went missing after leaving for work, was found dead floating in a temple tank. Loganathan, a resident of Chengalpet, ran a hotel in Vandalur. He is survived by his wife, Tamilselvi, 54, daughters Kumudha, 27, and Nivedha, 21, and son Hemachandran, 25. On the previous day, Loganathan left for his hotel as usual but did not return home that night. Alarmed family members searched for him but could not trace him. On Wednesday morning, Otteri police received information that the body of a man was seen floating in the temple tank of the Gangai Amman temple in Vandalur. The body was sent to Tambaram govt hospital for postmortem and a case was registered. Police said Loganathan suffered from liver issues due to excessive alcohol consumption and had undergone a surgery last month. Preliminary investigation suggests that, unable to bear the pain, he jumped into the temple tank.
