Four boys, aged 10-12, missing since Wednesday evening were found safe atop Bana hill in Deogarh district on Thursday. A joint police and forest operation, aided by locals, located the minors near a temple. One boy reportedly led the others on the escapade with aspirations of becoming a saint. After medical checks, they were reunited with their families.
After being produced before the child welfare committee (CWC), Deogarh, and after medical examination, the four minors were handed over to their respective families.Police said a missing complaint was filed on Wednesday night by a man after his 12-year-old son and three minors, aged 10, 11 and 12, failed to return home. The boys had reportedly told their families that they were going to play and would later attend tuitions.When the boy did not return till evening, his father contacted the tutor, who confirmed that none of the four boys had attended classes that day. Following this, a complaint was lodged. Police registered a kidnapping case and launched a search operation.Reamal police, assisted by their Deogarh and Kundheigola counterparts and forest officials from Reamal range, conducted searches throughout Wednesday night. Forest officials also deployed a drone camera, but the boys could not be traced.The search resumed on Thursday morning, when information was received about their presence on Bana hill. A team rushed to the spot and found the boys near the temple.The boys were initially produced before the judicial magistrate first class (JMFC), Deogarh.
