Hyderabad: On the first day of implementing dealer-point registration for newly purchased two-wheelers and cars, a few automobile dealerships in the city reported minor technical issues, primarily related to server downtime caused by heavy user traffic.Transport department officials acknowledged that the sudden surge in usage led to temporary glitches at certain locations. However, they clarified that the issues were promptly addressed and the system was restored within a short time.
According to Ramesh, joint transport commissioner, the software infrastructure has now been stabilised, and registration operations at dealerships are continuing smoothly. He said such initial challenges were anticipated given the statewide rollout and assured that technical teams remain on standby to monitor system performance and prevent further disruptions.Despite the brief technical hiccups, the department described the overall launch as successful, with registrations being completed directly at showrooms and vehicles delivered to customers under the new process. The initiative is expected to significantly reduce footfall at RTO offices, save time for vehicle owners, and bring greater transparency to the registration mechanism.Transport officials reiterated that the new system applies only to non-transport vehicles purchased from Jan 24, 2026, onwards, and urged dealers to coordinate closely with district transport authorities in case of any operational issues. The department expressed confidence that the dealer-point registration system will function seamlessly in the coming days as usage stabilises.
