Minor abduction accused escapes from Buxar police station lock-up
In a shocking turn of events, a man suspected of kidnapping a young girl from Buxar has evaded police custody after being apprehended in Punjab. The girl’s family, taking matters into their own hands, found the suspect and are now voicing their anger at the police’s failure to secure him.

Buxar: A man from Buxar, who was arrested from Ludhiana (Punjab), for allegedly abducting a minor girl, escaped from the lock-up at Buxar town police station on Monday morning.According to police sources, the case pertains to a minor girl who was allegedly lured to Ludhiana three months back. An FIR was registered at the Town police station in this regard at that time, but the girl’s family alleged that the police failed to take timely action. They said that left with no option, the family traced the accused on their own and took a town police station team to Punjab at their own expense.The girl was rescued from Ludhiana, and the accused, identified as Farhan, a resident of Khalasi Mohalla in Buxar, was arrested on Saturday. The police team returned to Buxar with the accused late Sunday night.On Monday around 8 am, the accused allegedly deceived the police by pretending that he needed to use the toilet and managed to flee. A family member of the victim said the escape exposed serious lapses in surveillance and security at the police station.Following the incident, the victim’s family staged a sit-in protest at the main gate of the town police station. They demanded immediate arrest of Farhan and strict action against police personnel responsible for the lapse.Meanwhile, town police station SHO, Manoj Kumar Singh, said raids are being conducted at possible hideouts of the accused and he would be arrested soon.
