Bathinda: At least 15 passengers sustained injuries as a mini bus of a private transport company overturned and plunged into fields at Mehal Khurd village in Barnala district on Thursday. Students of a private nursing college and a govt high school in Mehal Kalan were going to their institutions from different villages when the accident happened while overtaking another vehicle. According to passengers, the bus was driven rashly. According to sources, the bus overturned near its destination at about 8.15 am. After learning about the accident, local residents rushed to the spot, pulled the students out of the bus, and took them to the community health centre. The bus driver stated that a tipper suddenly came in front of the bus, which was not visible due to fog, and the bus overturned while overtaking the tipper. he injured were taken to the community health centre in Mehal Kalan, where initial treatment was given to 13 passengers, and 2 of the injured were sent to the civil hospital in Barnala.
