The Meenakshi Temple (also known as Meenakshi Amman Temple) is one of the most famous and magnificent Hindu temples in India, located in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. Dedicated to Goddess Meenakshi (an incarnation of Parvati) and her consort Lord Sundareshwarar (Shiva), it is a masterpiece of Dravidian architecture and a major pilgrimage site.

    • Originally built by Kulasekara Pandyan (12th-13th century).

    • Expanded by Tirumalai Nayak (17th century).

    • Destroyed by Malik Kafur (14th century) and later rebuilt.
