Gurgaon: The MCG commissioner Pradeep Dahiya on Wednesday inspected civic facilities in Sector 4 and Bhim Nagar, directing officials to make closed or underutilised municipal properties operational and improve field-level monitoring. The inspection began at Bal Bhawan and the community centre in Sector 4, where Dahiya reviewed building conditions, cleanliness and maintenance. He instructed officials to start operations at Bal Bhawan, which was found non-functional, so it can be used for children’s educational, cultural and creative activities. At the community centre, officials were asked to improve upkeep and ensure better facilities for residents.
The commissioner also reviewed sanitation arrangements, road conditions, drainage and maintenance of public spaces in the sector, and directed officials to resolve civic issues within fixed timelines. “The objective of the civic body is not just to carry out construction work, but to ensure the real benefits of those facilities to residents.” Dahiya said.Later, Dahiya visited the mayor’s camp office in Bhim Nagar and inspected the Ayushman Arogya Mandir, reviewing the health services being provided to residents. He said regular field inspections would continue, and accountability would be fixed in cases of negligence. MCG has recently made civic inspections mandatory through an in-house developed mobile application, currently in a preliminary phase, which will later be extended to residents and linked with agencies such as GMDA, NHAI and HSVP.
