New Delhi: Four masked and armed men holding knives allegedly robbed nearly Rs 6.7 lakh from a restaurant in Connaught Place in the early hours of Friday. According to the FIR, the incident took place around 4 am. The complainant, Ramesh Shukla, an employee, told police that he was sleeping on the mezzanine floor when he heard suspicious noises. Shukla claimed he rushed downstairs and saw four men with their faces covered standing near the cash counter, allegedly holding knives. “I immediately shouted, ‘Thief! Thief!’ On hearing my voice, they jumped over the back wall from the kitchen area and fled,” he said. Shukla further stated that he informed the restaurant’s security guard, Arundat Singh, who was on duty at the gate, and they both searched the premises, but the suspects had allegedly already escaped.
