Jaipur: Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) has identified 13 major roads and junctions in Mansarovar for a comprehensive beautification drive, in what is the first of a series of planned actions to strengthen infrastructure, improve traffic movement, and enhance the city’s appearance.JDA officials said attractive green patterns with plants will be developed on medians of the 13 roads, and sculptures and landscaped greenery based on a specific theme will be installed at various T-points so that the entire stretch presents a uniform and visually appealing look. Sculptures are also proposed at the Shipra Path T-junction.
Speaking about the project, JDA conservator of forest Anita said, “At present, the focus is on starting the plantation. Plants will be selected carefully so that they can survive the summer heat. The work may take 2 to 3 months to begin, as a budget estimate will be prepared first, followed by the tender process,” she said.On the sculptures to be installed, she said the theme had not been finalised as yet. “As far as the green pattern is concerned, there is a proposal to create sculptures using trees and plants themselves,” she said.JDA officials believe that once completed, the project will not only improve the visual appeal of Mansarovar but also offer a more pleasant experience to commuters and residents passing through the area.
