Tuem water plant to go live in March: CM

Mapusa: Chief minister Pramod Sawant said that the long-standing water crisis in Mandrem constituency is nearing its end, with the 30MLD water treatment plant (WTP) at Tuem confirmed to be operational by March.During a recent high-level inspection of the Rs 64 crore facility alongside Mandrem MLA Jit Arolkar, Sawant said the project is being fast-tracked to meet the summer deadline. The project is vital to the state’s mission to bridge a 50MLD deficit in North Goa. Drawing raw water from the Tillari reservoir, the Tuem plant will initially provide a guaranteed 12-hour supply to Mandrem, a significant leap for a region currently struggling with tap water for just 30 minutes every alternate day.
