Prayagraj: Lalapur police arrested a man identified as Shivshankar Pal (31) of Derabari on Wednesday on charges of amending his date of birth in his passport and Aadhaar card using forged date of birth. He was booked under sections 319(2)/336(3)/340(2) and 61(2) of the BNS.Police said the accused managed to get a forged birth certificate by showing his date of birth as July 11, 2005, instead of his actual date of birth, July 11, 1994, and subsequently got the forged date of birth (July 11, 2005) entered in his passport and Aadhaar card. During the investigation, sections 318(4) and 338 of the BNS were added to the case.Shivshankar confessed that he passed his High School examination from the UP Board in 2011, where his date of birth was recorded as July 11, 1994. He also passed his 9th and 12th grades from the same board. He got his Aadhaar card and PAN card made with all the data correct. In 2022, he obtained his passport through an application from Lalapur Police Station with the correct data.However, later he applied for the High School examination again from the Open Schooling and Skill Education Board, Sikkim, Gangtok, by tampering with the date of birth on the computer and forging the documents, showing his date of birth as July 11, 2005. He then passed the High School examination from there, after which he received his mark sheet and migration certificate.Based on this certificate, he obtained a birth certificate from Shankargarh block, Prayagraj district, with a fabricated date of birth, July 11, 2005. He then got the changes done in the Aadhaar card and PAN card and attempted to gain financial benefits using these forged documents.
