Kolkata: Riaz Dar (42) of Haldarpara, Khutiyari Sharisha under Canning Police Station in South 24 Parganas sustained knife injuries after he tried to intervene in a road-rage altercation near Chittaranjan Hospital around 3.40 pm on Jan 25. A pickup van’s driver and two scooter riders scuffled after a collision between the vehicles as the van had come to a halt all of a sudden near a sweet shop. Dar alleged when he tried to stop the fight a local youth, who claimed to be friends with the riders, attacked him. The driver fled. Dar was discharged after being treated at a hospital.
Beniapukur police is probing the case. tnn
