Begusarai: The sub-divisional court of Manjhaul in Begusarai district on Thursday awarded life imprisonment to a man for killing his father. Additional public prosecutor Rakesh Kumar said Ranjit Das of Sihma village under Chhaurahi police station area, had been accused of committing the murder of his father, Kripal Das, when he was sleeping in his house in Nov 2017. ADJ Sanjay Kumar Singh had found Ranjit guilty of the murder on Jan 19 this year. However, the court announced the punishment on Thursday and also imposed a fine of Rs20,000 on him,” he said.
