Jodhpur: In a shocking incident, a man killed his wife by hitting her on the head with an iron rod Thursday morning in Guda Bishnoian village in Jodhpur, police said. His daughter, who rushed to the spot on hearing her mother’s screams and tried to intervene, was also hit similarly and her hand suffered a fracture.Police arrested the accused, a farmer, a few hours after the incident from a spot about 3-4 km away from the house.SHO (Vivek Vihar) Dilip Khadav said at the time of the incident, the husband and wife were in their room, while their three children were sleeping in another room.“Around 4am, the couple got into an argument and, in a fit of rage, the husband, Birbalram, carried out a fatal attack on his wife, Guddi (35), with an iron rod. Hearing her mother’s screams, the eldest daughter, Nikita (15), woke up and rushed to her parents’ room,” he said.As tried to intervene to save her mother, Nikita’s father did not spare her either, which led to a fracture in her hand. After the assault, he fled from the spot. The daughter informed relatives in the neighbourhood, who took the woman to hospital, where she was declared as brought dead.
