Patna: Police have arrested a man for allegedly murdering his wife following a domestic dispute in Patna. According to police sources, the woman’s body was recovered from her residence in the Kadamkuan locality on Thursday with blood oozing from her nose, raising suspicion of foul play.City SP (central) Diksha said a thorough search of the premises was carried out, following which a team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) was called to assist with the collection of evidence. “The body was subsequently sent for a post-mortem examination at a hospital. The case was registered following a complaint lodged by the deceased woman’s father. Based on the application and initial leads, the woman’s husband, Raju Sah, was identified as the prime suspect,” she said.“He was arrested within 30 hours of the incident. Preliminary interrogation revealed that the murder was the fallout of disputes between the couple. The accused was described as having a short temper and an aggressive nature. Local enquiries indicated that he had visited the house two days earlier but was not seen afterwards, which further strengthened suspicion against him. Reports also emerged that the accused went to his village and reportedly confessed to some people there about killing his wife,” the SP said on Saturday.Both the husband and wife were natives of Mohania in Kaimur district and had been residing in a rented accommodation in Patna’s Kadamkuan area. “Further legal proceedings are under way, and the investigation continues to establish all facts surrounding the incident. The accused was forwarded to jail on Saturday,” Diksha said.
