Pune: A 21-year-old man was arrested on Thursday on the charge of stabbing his friend to death with a knife in their rental accommodation at Nanekarwadi in Khed taluka on Wednesday night.The Chakan South police identified the deceased as Kishor Rane (25). His friend, Kapil Kosalkar, was arrested under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Sub-inspector Akshay Mote of the Chakan South police said Kosalkar and Rane were from Gondia district. “They have been working in different private companies in the MIDC area. Kosalkar rented a room in Nanekarwadi, which the duo shared,” Mote said.The officer said they had heated arguments over some petty issue around 9.45pm on Wednesday. In a fit of rage, Kosalkar took a knife and stabbed Rane in the chest and face. “Kosalkar also suffered injuries,” the officer said.Mote said their landlord rushed to their room after hearing the commotion and took Rane to a nearby hospital, where the latter succumbed to injuries during treatment. “The injured accused was also taken to the hospital. He was arrested after treatment,” he said.
