Kanpur: Police in Auraiya arrested a 55-year-old man on Saturday for allegedly raping a deaf-mute woman in the community toilet near a primary school under the Sahayal police station area of Achanakpur village.After the assault, the woman returned home and told her family, who then took her to the Sahayal police station and reported the incident to the cops. In the complaint, the survivor’s mother stated that her daughter went towards the fields on Friday morning when the accused, identified as Devi Dayal, caught her and took her to the community toilet built near the primary school and raped her.After receiving the complaint, Sahayal police registered a case against Dayal under relevant sections and began an investigation. Sahayal Station House Officer Vinod Kumar said, “A case was registered based on the complaint of the girl’s mother. The woman’s medical examination is being conducted.”
