Burdwan: A 26-year-old man allegedly hacked a rural medical practitioner (RMP) to death inside his chamber in Burdwan on Tuesday afternoon and later surrendered at the local police station, reports Mohammad Asif.The victim Raja Bhowmick (42) practised in Badamtala. Police said the accused — Jiban Ruidas of Amra village — believed that Bhowmick’s wrong treatment had led to his grandmother’s death. He entered the chamber around 1pm with a sharp weapon and attacked him, killing him on the spot. After the murder, he went to Burdwan PS with the weapon and surrendered.
